This is where I went to university, so it's only fitting that I give it some
coverage here. It's a nice looking campus from the outside, but it's falling
apart from the inside out. I still have mixed feelings about the place,
though.
The front gate of UNB. Memorial Hall is visible in the background.
The Alumni Memorial Building. This is not the same as Memorial Hall.
Lady Beaverbrook Gymnasium. I really didn't go near this place except during
exam time.
The physics building is visible on the left, and Memorial Hall on the right.
Loring Bailey Hall. I don't really know what this building is used for,
although I took first year physics here.
Another shot of Memorial Hall, this time up close and personal.
"King's College", or "The Old Arts Building". I forget the real name for this
building. It was the original building on the UNB campus, and is a historic
site.
Fredericton Downtown/Historic Area
Fredericton has a wonderfully preserved historic downtown. It is rather
picturesque, which is somewhat rare in New Brunswick. If I eventually get a
chance to post pictures of Moncton (where I live now), you'll quickly realize
what I mean. These should be roughly in order, walking downtown from UNB.
Random graffiti under an overpass.
The Fredericton Walking Bridge. This used to be a rail bridge until the entire
line was removed and replaced with walking trails.
An overview of the historic area.
One of Fredericton's many old stone churches.
The same church, from a different angle, and looking much darker.
The waterfront park that runs down along the entirety of Fredericton downtown,
over looking the St. John River.
A war memorial stands in the midst of the historic area.
Some sort of arts center. I don't really remember the function of this
building.
A statue stands to the left of the arts center, forming a part of the
waterfront park.
The Lord Beaverbrook Hotel. From what I recall, this is actually a historic
building.
The Fredericton Theatre. I think it has some sort of special name, but I
didn't catch it.
The Fredericton Legislature.
The New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame. I have no idea what this building is
about, I just read the sign.
The Fredericton Federal Building. This place apparently handles a lot of
pension files and the like.
The Old Post Office Building. This has been turned into some sort of
government office building in recent years.
The Fredericton Justice Building. All federal and provincial courts are
located here. Did I mention they called me twice for jury duty?
The Fredericton Armory museum. Various war-related stuff.
A bank owns this building. I seem to recall it's Royal Bank of Canada,
although I'm not sure.
This building forms the edge of an area of preserved historic buildings.
City Hall. I always found this a rather unusual City Hall. While very
picturesque, it looks rather odd.
Fredericton Police local branch. The headquarters is actually quite a distance
from downtown, but this local branch is close to the core.
The TD Tower. Several government offices are also located here.
